ITIL ® V3 Qualifications Scheme offers a credit system that allows for maximizes
flexibility. Each V3 certification has been assigned a numerical credit value.
Credit values across all levels can be accumulated to achieve the required
minimum twenty two (22) credits in order to achieve the ITIL ® Expert level
certification.
Once the ITIL® Expert Level is achieved, candidates can pursue the ITIL ® Master
Level certification, which is currently in development.Prerequisite
Candidates with no prior ITIL® certifications wishing to take ITIL® V3
examinations must satisfy the following requirements: |

Foundation Level:
No credit or certification prerequisite is required to register for ITIL®
Foundation Certificate Examination. To maximize success, it is recommended that
candidate complete Foundation module course(s) with an Accredited Training
Associate (ATA). |

Service Lifecycle & Capability Modules:
ITIL® Foundation V3 certificate or ITIL® Foundation V2 plus the ITIL® Foundation
V3 bridge certificate AND completion of intermediate module course(s) from a V3
Accredited Training Associate (ATA). |

Managing Across the Lifecycle Module:
ITIL® Foundation V3 certificate or ITIL® Foundation V2 plus the ITIL® Foundation
V3 bridge certificate AND accumulation of no less than 15 credits from Lifecycle
and/or Capability stream (no credit is given for duplicate modules) AND
completion of required intermediate Modules from a V3 Accredited Training
Associate (ATA) |
